What is Hirvine.com?
I prefer you to take a look at the newbies page, grabbed from the blog/news page menu on the right. I'm not refined to regulary update the page, so in question ask me wether the stated facts remained true :S.

Who made Hirvine.com?
If you wonder who made Hirvine.com? You should probarly use the about us link. You can find it hovering your mouse over the main menu, on top, at 'Home'.

What about the 2 menu's?
The main page, front page also called, hirvine.com, has indeed 2 menu's. Note we refer the blue menu on top the main menu and the right menu the sub menu. The sub menu may differ in each district. The news page, used wordpress engine, is a submenu regarding blog. The district may or may not hold another sub menu.

Is there a forum or other kind of community?
At the moment we only have the blog respond as a public feedback.
We think no one wants us to have a forum. Do you disagreed? Do we need a forum? Please contact us.

What is a district?
A district is a place, a region, an area. In this case it's an area devoted to X. So the district Anime will engulf itself into all Anime aspects this site covers, except the blog.

What is the difference between Anime and Toon district?
Technically no change at all. In fact all pages are seemless linked to a main script. The difference between the district is formal and respectble approach of Anime and Toon. Anime ain't Toon and Toon anin't Anime. To prevent people complaining about this fact a formal distinquish is made.

What is the download policy?
Like regular DDL sites we do have download restrictions to maintain the heavy loads on our servers. A server does costs a lot, especially DDL servers. So to maintain these servers Hirvine.com uses the next restriction:
  • Each IP (yours: 38.103.63.60) has 3 download slots
  • Downloads are NOT resume able (to prevent abuse of download accelerators)
  • Activate your download using an url from the the Anime or Toon District
  • Time out timer, wait a moment until the download timer times out and click download
  • The download speed is restricted by server load (and it's own bandwidth ofcourse)
Though it may seem to be harsh restrictions there is good sight.
  • NO need to register, registering bothers at the moment only commenting at the blog
  • Refering to the district pages (NOT the files) are allowed.
    We even have permalinks avaiable to guide you.
  • After 2-3 hours (depends on server load) any download slot is automatically resetted!

What are download slots?
Each file downloaded at any district uses 1 download slot. When you reaches the maximum, you can't download any file from ANY districts. The maximum defined download slots are defined in the download policy

I get an error 'using all download slots'?
The cause / problem
There are several reasons, and most of them are unfortunately secuirity issues, which will NOT be fixed.
  • NO support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0!
    Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7.0 is not recommended but we heared it works fine.
    We prefer see Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, Flock... Those are fine.
  • The cause of several abuse attempts we disabled cancel requests. Which means you CANNOT cancel your download request! Once clicked a file, the timer goes on and the download slot is set. The download slot will NOT be resetted if you exits the page, backwards the page or cancels the file! If you do, you have to wait until the server automatically resets your download slot. See the download policy.
    The only way to ensure a good feedback is to complete your download!
  • Hirvine.com delivers you a no accounts download. Doing so we find your IP as ID. Routers (eg. at school) sends a single IP to the site. So YOU might be downloading, but your roomate, classmate may too. Without accounts there is NO way to avoid this problem.
Solution
Do not worry too muchas stated in the download policy, all download slots will be automatically reseted. You just need to have patience a little longer.
